The Sweet Life
The Sweet Life
This site is dedicated to my super supportive honey, friends and family who, like my addiction for sugar, have been constants in my ever-changing and crazy adventures. They are a simple reminder of how blessed and how sweet my life truly is!

Fallout New Vegas
Fallout New Vegas is one of the birthday boy's favorite video games. He bought the game for "us" and got my bf hooked on it ,too, for some time. It made me nuts. This cake made me nuts. The bugs were tough to make. Of all the features of this cake my bf liked, it was the sign. Except for the wire antennae on the cazador bugs, everything on the cake is edible. Don't you think the M&N heart was a nice touch to the cake?
This was the birthday boy's favorite feature - Fallout boy knifing the bad cazador bug before being decapitated.
The cake is chocolate covered in chantilly frosting. Fallout boy is made of rice crispy treats covered in fondant. The cazador bugs are made out of gumpaste.
Skater Gurl
I was asked to design a cake for my friend's youngest princess. Was I surprised when she told me baby girl Zurie was a fan of pogs and Tech Deck...LOL. My favorite part of making cakes for kids are the looks of awe on their faces when they see the cake for the first time. Cake must have been good because (and I'm not exaggerating) it disappeared within 3 minutes of the first cut.
Baby Elmo
This was the first cake I made for someone other than family or friends. I was so nervous. I don't think I'll ever get over the nerves I feel when I create a cake for someone I don't know well.
Korean Cutie
Inspired by one of my favorite cake decorators, Pink Cake Box.
My favoritest part of the cake, her little hair bow. Wish I had a better picture.
Barbie
I have always loved Barbie dolls. I received one for almost every birthday and Christmas from my hanna-batta days and I have to admit, even a few as an adult. So after about 4 or 5 sessions of cake decorating classes, I thought I might have learned enough to create a Barbie themed dessert table.
My bf was the rose expert. His roses always looked so much better than mine.
